HIGHLIGHTS

1. The overall wage rate index increased by 5.2 points or 3.8% to reach 142.1 points in September 2006 compared to 136.9 points in September 2005.


2. The main industry groups contributing to this increase were:

3. The wage rate index for the General Government sector increased by 3.0 points or 2.2 % to reach 137.9 points in 2006 compared to 134.9 points in 2005.


4. The wage rate index for the EPZ sector rose by 3.7 points or 2.6 % to reach 143.7 points in 2006 compared to 140.0 points in 2005.
