2. On a monthly basis, the index decreased by 0.4% in April, 0.1% in May
and remained unchanged in June 2009.
3. The 0.4% decrease in April was due to lower prices of steel bars (8.9%), partly offset by increases of 2.9% in the prices of metal openings, particularly garage doors, and plumbing (9.7%). The 0.1% decrease in May was the result of lower prices of inputs for metal openings (1.6 %).

5. The “Labour”, “Hire of Plant”, and “Transport” sub-indices remained unchanged during the second quarter of 2009.
