The decrease in the sub-index of “Manufacture of food products, beverages and tobacco”, which accounts for nearly 50% of the overall weight, was mainly due to price decreases in the “Production, processing and preservation of meat and meat products” (-2.9%), “Manufacture of macaroni, noodles and similar products” (-1.4%) and “Manufacture of other food products” (-0.1%).
3. In May, the overall index declined by 0.8% mainly due to decreases in the sub-indices of “Manufacture of food products, beverages and tobacco” (-1.7%).
