The establishment of a National Quality Infrastructure (NQI) in any country necessitates the setting up of two key bodies, namely, an accreditation body and a standards body. In this context, the Government of Mauritius set up the Mauritius Standards Bureau (MSB) in 1975 and the Mauritius Accreditation Service (MAURITAS) in 1998.
