6 December 03 Seminar in Rodrigues on the theme Towards a Productive Retirement with the participation of Mr Vithilingem, Dr Bundhoo and Dr Motah as resource persons. We also gave a donation of Rs 5,000 to the Club in Rodrigues. We wish to place on record the financial assistance of POWC and the Ministry Social Security for this Seminar

We had the participation of Dr Ricaud, Chairman of the National Economic and Social Council, Hon Lauthan and Mrs Sreeheekisson, Senior Youth Officer of the Ministry of Youth

Residential Seminar on the theme ‘Towards a Society for all ages’ in collaboration with the Ministry of Civil Service Affairs.with the then President of Mauritius Mr Karl Offman as the Chief Guest. The main topics covered were Health i.e Sexuality and Ageing , IT Demonstration and culture and the participation of Mutual Aid who gave valuable information on income security

21 June 03 Intergeneration Activity at the Floreal Youth Centre in collaboration with the MInistry of Social SECURITY AND Ministry of Youth. Quiz Indoor games competitions were organized between the elderly and the Youth. It was first of its kind and a successful activity

Discussions with Pay Research Bureau reg. our proposals. We are happy to say that many of our recommendations were taken care by the PRB in its Report of June 03 like.

  • Payment full month when officer dies
  • Travel grant in full when officer takes leave prior to retirement
  • Certain categories can now retire after 30 years with full pension
  • Those who undergo training when enter service now 50 per cent counted for pension

A Brainstorming Session with the participation of 75 members for half a day and came out with a TEN-POINT PROGRAMME

Official launching of the Club by the Prime Minister and also release of the TEN POINT PROGRAMME. This was followed by a Talk on ‘Preparation for Retirement’ by Dr M. Motah

Seminar in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Security, RespectAge International of Agra and Anugraha of New Delhi on ;Towards an Active Ageing’ in the presence of the Vice President H.E Raouf Bundhun and Ministers Jeewah and Lauthan. Main topics were Nutrition and Protection of the Elderly

Setting up of the Le Flamboyant Multipurpose Cooperative STY. Official Registration handed over by Minister of Cooperatives in the presence of Minister of Civil Service Affairs.

TEN-PONT PROGRAMME: 2002 - 2004

  • To encourage the concept of AGEING WITH DIGNITY through productive activities
  • To foster BETTER RELATIONSHIP among different age groups
  • To promote a HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT AND BETTER HEALTH SERVICES for members
  • To promote SOCIAL AND CULTURAL EXCHANGES with elderly persons of other countries
  • To encourage and support the BLOSSOMING OF ARTISTIC TALENTS
  • To provide facilities for wider participation in SPORTS/LEISURE
  • To encourage IT CULTURE through specialized training programme
  • To ensure INCOME SECURITY and advocate appropriate concessions for members
  • To assist and advise members in cases of PHYSICAL INSECURITY, LEGAL HARDSHIP and other type of VIOLENCE AND ABUSE and
  • To foster the spirit of self-help through the setting up of a CREDIT UNION and provision of in-house facilities for overseas travel through the establishment of A TRAVEL AGENCY and other similar projects
