State Visit of H.E Marc RAVALOMANANA in Mauritius

GIS - November 8 : The President of the Malagasy Republic,H.E Mr Marc Ravalomanana is expected in Mauritius tonight at 19.00 hours at the SSR International Airport . He will be welcomed by the Mauritian Prime Minister,Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam.

President Ravalomanana is accompanied by a strong delegation comprising Mr Marcel Ranjeva,Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mr Harison Randriarimanana ,Minister of Agriculture,Farming and Fisheries and Mr Roger Rafanomezantsoa,Minister of Industrialization,Commerce and of the Development of the Private Sector as well as high-ranking officials and representatives of the private sector.

The Malagasy President will start his visit on November 9 with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Samadhi of SSR at the Botanic Garden,Pamplemousses. He will then pay a courtesy call on the President of the Republic,Sir Anerood Jugnauth at State House,Le Réduit. The Malagasy President will also have a tête-à-tête with the Prime Minister at Clarisse House followed by a ceremony of signature of bilateral agreements.

In the evening,the Chief Justice,Mr Ariranga Pillay,the Speaker of the National Assembly,Mr Kailash Purryag and the leader of the Opposition,Mr Paul Bérenger will call on the Malagasy President. The Malagasy President will also attend the State banquet hosted in his honour.

The President will,on the following day visit the Ebène Cyber Tower . He will also receive members of the Malagasy community living in Mauritius .

Mr Marc Ravalomanana will wind up his visit on November 10 with a press conference at SSR international Airport in the presence of the Mauritian Prime Minister.
