Permanent Arbitration Tribunal

Civil Service Arbitration Tribunal

There is established for the purposes of this Part a Tribunal to be known as the Civil Service Arbitration Tribunal, which shall consist of-

(a) a President to be appointed by the Minister; and
(b) 2 assessors who shall be chosen in such manner as may be prescribed.

The President of the Permanent Arbitration Tribunal established under section 39 may be appointed President of the Civil Service Arbitration Tribunal.

In the exercise of its functions under this Act the Civil Service Arbitration Tribunal shall, in so far as may be appropriate-
(a)   have regard to the principles laid down in section 47;
(b)   be guided by the Code of Practices set out in the Third Schedule.

The Civil Service Arbitration Tribunal shall have such other functions as may be prescribed or may otherwise be provided by Parliament.

The Civil Service Arbitration Tribunal shall regulate its proceedings in such manner as it may determine.

The functions of the Permanent Arbitration Tribunal are exercised in relation to the Public Service and Civil Service unions by the Civil Service Arbitration Tribunal.
