Pricing Policy of CSO

Principle 1

The CSO is committed to make official statistics accessible to all users.

Principle 2

The CSO provides a free service for basic statistical data

Principle 3

The CSO will recover from users the costs of producing and providing information additional to basic statistical data if it is cost-effective to do so. The recovery costs will be based on operating and capital costs such as cost incurred on labour, materials and delivery.

Principle 4

Charges are applied according to the category of users and type of statistical products and services as follows: -

(i) All statistical products and services are supplied free of charge to ministries and government departments.

(ii) The price of print-publications will be based on the cost incurred for producing the publication, excluding the cost of collecting, compiling, processing and analysing the data. Except for ministries and government departments, which receive free copies, the same price will apply to all users.

(iii) Maps will be sold at the same price as the Ministry of Housing and Lands to all users, except for ministries and government departments, which will be charged the cost of paper only.

(iv) For customised tables and sampling frames, the CSO will fully recover the operating costs incurred for generating such tables and frames. These customised products will be charged in full to users except for government ministries and departments, which will receive them free.
