Visit of Director-General, UNESCO

The delegation headed by His Excellency Mr. K. Matsuura, Director-General of UNESCO, visited Mauritius from 17-19 February 2004 :

(i) Mr. Nourémi Tidjani-Serpos, Assistant Director General for Africa.

(ii) Mr. Armoogum Parsuramen, Director BREDA Dakar

(iii) Mr. Cheik Sy, Director, UNESCO Office, Dar-es-Salaam

(iv) Mrs. Cécille Duvelle, Attaché de Cabinet


Participation in the 169th and 170th Executive Board Meetings

A delegation comprising Minister, Secretary General and Permanent Delegation of Mauritius to the UNESCO, Paris, participated in the debates of the 169th Executive Board Meeting held in Paris.

Workshop for UNESCO Clubs Leaders

A workshop for UNESCO clubs leaders has been held on 29 July 2004. The workshop focussed on the theme of “Culture and Peace” and comprised presentations on the activities of UNESCO clubs carried out in the past, on the structure and objectives of UNESCO.

Microscience Experiments Workshop

UNESCO and GIFCA carried out the Microscience Experiments Workshop at the Mauritius Institute of Education (M.I.E) from 24 to 25 March 2004.

E-learning

A Training Workshop on Distance Education and e-learning for the Mauritius Institute of Education was held from 25 May to 4 June 2004.
