Functions/Services
.To be a communication link between Government and the public, including the print and electronic media.
.To publicize the activities of Ministries, departments and statutory bodies and the services that they provide.
.To advise and assist Government, at the level of Ministries/Departments on publicity and public relations matters.
.To plan and produce material for publicity and public awareness campaigns on issues of national importance.
.To assist in publicizing Mauritius in overseas media to project a healthy international image of the country.
.To publish documents, to organize press conferences and other events, to assist foreign media persons, institutions and dignitaries.
.To maintain links with foreign press agencies and to prepare and issue a daily bulletin of overseas news.
.To maintain close contacts with ministerial information units.
.To maintain and manage an audio-visual unit to provide visual publicity to Government activities.
.To provide sound system to official functions and conferences.
.To accredit media personnel.
