Operational - Fire Fighting

Equipments are regularly maintained and tested for optimum use. These fire stations respond to an average of 5000 emergency calls yearly. For a rapid response the caller shall provide the following informations. (i) Name of caller (ii) Type of emergency – Fire Accident – injured/trapped Special service Request (iii) Nature of fire – if it is a building – any one trapped / injured if it is an industry / anybody trapped / injured / (iv) Telephone number of caller – for gathering additional information in case necessary. It also carries out fire safety inspections and provides the following services: (i) issue of fire certificate and fire clearances; (ii) issue of certificate of registration for storage and handling of flammable substances; and (iii) approval of plans of buildings. |
