Solid Waste Monitoring Committee

A Solid Waste Monitoring Committee has been set up at the Ministry of Local Government and comprises officers of the Solid Waste Management of the Ministry and representatives of all Local Authorities:

The objectives of the Committee are:

 

(a) to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas/experiences/solutions in so far as scavenging services are concerned;
(b) to look into complaints received and provide remedial measures;
(c) to propose short, medium and long-term solutions to the problems/constraints being encountered by the Local Authorities in relation to scavenging services;
(d) to harmonise procedures and regulations in force at the different local authorities and the Ministry.
