| NATIONAL ACTION PLAN ON ASBESTOS Following concern raised in different quarters over the possible health risks associated with the use of asbestos and the presence of asbestos- containing materials in buildings, EDC houses and factories, an Interministerial Committee chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance was set up in June 2001 to look into the health dimension of asbestos in Mauritius.
