Creation of Energy Services Division

The Energy Services Division was created in 1981 by grouping the Hospital maintenance staff of the Ministry of Health & Quality of Life and the Electrical Section of the Telecommunication Department.

Staffing

The Division's staff comprises a Chief Engineer, one Deputy Chief Engineer, two Prinicipal Engineers, three Senior Electrical Engineers, staff of the Technician and Inspectorate grades, Electricians, Plant Mechanics, Tradesman's Assistants and supporting staff of the Finance & Stores, Personnel and General Services Cadres.

This charter covers services provided by the Energy Services Division.

Our main Services To Our Customers

 

Provision of electrical consultancy services (inclusive of air conditioning, lifts, standby generators, UPS’s etc.)

 

Provision of electrical consultancy services for public lighting such as for highway projects, for lighting of sports facilities, etc.)

 

Provision of electrical installations on government premises.

Maintenance of electrical installations, plant and equipment

 

Maintenance of lifts

Maintenance of air conditioning systems at New Government Centre and Emmanuel Anquetil Building.

Maintenance of air conditioning equipment in hospitals where our staff are posted.

Preparing specifications for Ministries/Departments (in respect of electrical plant and equipment) and assessing tenders.

Providing temporary electrical installations and standby services during official functions, and in polling stations for the National Assembly, Village Council and Municipal elections.

Providing an “on-call” standby services for hospitals.

Providing a standby service during cyclones to Hospitals, Meteorological Department, State House, New Government Centre and Emmanuel Anquetil Building.

To report on electrocution and fire cases.

Our Standard of Services

 

All requests for electrical works shall be forwarded to the Head Quarters 

 

All requests for works will be directed to the appropriate section within 5 days for action. .

 

The section concerned will carry out a survey within one week

 

Departmental warrants will be requested from Ministries/Departments for the appropriate works to be carried out and the time periods for the execution of works requested will be specified. .

 

We will ensure within two weeks of receipt of the departmental warrant that work will commence on site.

 

If the work is beyond our capabilities we will assist you to provide design and  specifications for contracting out within a reasonable time.

Note:      Ministries and Departments must ensure that funds are available for the works to be done.   However in emergency cases we will still ensure that the electrical work are carried out and the provision warrant will be required from the Ministry/Department.  It is to be noted also that works are carried out in Government Owed Buildings only.

 

Consultancy Services

We provide free consultancy services to Ministries/Departments in all aspects of electrical works such as electrical installations, air conditioning and refrigeration, standby generators, UPS’s, water pumps, lifts, autoclaves, incinerators amongst others in Government Owed Buildings only.

We will answer your queries on the spot, but if we cannot, we will let you know why and when you can expect a reply.
