Application for a Mauritius Passport - THE LAW

 

Passport Act - Section 5

Any person who, for the purpose of obtaining a passport, or a renewal or endorsement of a passport

(a) makes any representation or statement which he knows to be false in a material particular; or
(b) recklessly makes any statement which is false in a material particular, shall commit an offence.

 

Passport Act - Section 13

Every person who commits an offence under this Act or contravenes this Act or any Regulations made under it, shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding 1,000 Rupees and to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year.
