SCOPE
   

The Passport and Immigration Office (P.I.O.) is the sole authority for the processing and the issuing of Mauritius Passports, Travel Document and Certificate of Identity to eligible persons as provided under the Passport Act 1969, the Citizenship Act and the Constitution of Mauritius and their subsequent amendments.

It also assumes the responsibility of controlling and regulating entry, exit and duration of stay of non-citizens on Mauritian territory in accordance with the provisions laid down in the Immigration Act, Deportation Act and Non-Citizens (Employment Restriction) Act and regulations made thereunder.
