PRIME MINISTER IN PARLIAMENT
The Constitution of Mauritius provides for the Parliament of Mauritius to consist of the President and the National Assembly. The Parliament of Mauritius follows the Westminster model. Members of Parliament are elected on a first past the post basis. Elections are held every five years in principle. The Prime Minister is the leader of the House.
