COMPARATIVE FATAL ROAD ACCIDENT FOR THE YEARS 2005
AND 2006 AS AT 22.05.2006 INCLUDING RODRIGUES

Road deaths are up by 29% for the period 1st of January 2006 up to 15th of March 2006 compared to the same period for the preceding year, with an increase of 6 persons in the number of killed.

The most vulnerable groups in fatal road accidents are pedestrians and riders.  Casulties with the age group of 25-50 years are more accident prone, closely followed by those in the age group of 16 -25 years.
