Adjacent to normal police duties, the IT Unit provides a wide range of specialized services in line with IT developments and projects identified for the Mauritius Police Force.

ICT Releted Crime

	ICT-related offences are investigated by the IT Unit since its creation.
	The officers of the Cyber Cell:
	provide advice and technical assistance to Enquiry bodies, investigate in and collect digital evidence, examine exhibits involved in computer misuse and cyber crime offences. assist enquiring officers in the arrest of suspects and interview of witnesses and interrogation of suspects involved in ICT related crimes. initially visit ICT-related Scene of Crimes and examine exhibits when and where required. The Cyber Cell is also involved in the tracking of criminals using mobile phones for criminal activities. Assist (Central Investigation Division) CID personnel in the identification of suspects in photographs and videos. Provide support to (Anti Piracy Unit) APU for identification of pirated software.
