To carry out regular reviews of pay and grading structures in the Civil Service, Parastatal and other Statutory Bodies, Local Authorities,Rodrigues Regional Assembly and the Private Secondary Schools and to make appropriate recommendations with a view to:
(a) rendering the public sector more efficient and effective
(b) recruiting and retaining required skills in the public sector
(c) ensuring that pay in the Public Sector keeps pace with pay of corresponding positions in the Private Sector to the extent that is desirable;
(d) establishing and maintaining reasonable differentials for different categories of skills and levels of responsibility; and
(e) ensuring adequate linkage between pay and economic growth in the long run
