| Following the amendment to Section 88 of the Constitution by Act No. 5 of 1997, the Disciplined Forces Service Commission consists of the Chairman of the Public Service Commission and four Commissioners. All of them are appointed by the President of the Republic after consultation with the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition. No person is qualified for appointment as Chairman or Commissioner of the Commission if he is a member of, or a candidate for election to the Legislative Assembly or any Local Authority, a Public Officer or a Local Government Officer. |
