Visit of H.E. Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, President of the Republic of India

         An interactive session between H.E. Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam and the Upper Secondary School Students was arranged by the Ministry of Education & Human Resources on Monday 13 March 2006 at the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre.

         About 127 students from different schools participated in the programme.  Other invitees were President’s Contingent, Media and Invitees of the Ministry of Education & Human Resources.

         The President was welcomed by the Honourable Dharambeer Gokhool, Minister of Education & Human Resources.  On his arrival, the President of the Republic of India visited the ground floor of the galleries and he signed the visitor’s book.

         The President of India gave a lecture and replied to the questions asked by the students.  Each student was offered a book - “Ignited Minds” written by the President of India.

          His Excellency Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam has also offered a photo frame illustrating the Milky Way, to the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre.
