A.      What is Youth Leadership? 

         A process whereby an individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a common goal. (Peter Northouse – Leadership Theory and Practice 2001)

B.        Why is Leadership Important? 

         Leadership is important because it is the best way to get the best people do the work best for you or for the organization. 

         Strong leadership is the decisive factor in driving the changes that are needed to get us to a better day. 

C.        Course Content (10 sessions of 3 hrs each)

·    Orienteering and Introduction to the Course – Ministry of Youth and Sports

·    Adolescent Growth and Development

·    Personality Development – Self Esteem and Self-Confidence

·    Communication – Presentation Skills

·    Leadership – Styles and Skills

·    Group Dynamics – Team Building

·    Goal Setting – Decision Making

·    Time Management – Stress Management

·    Project Planning, Write-Up, Implementation and Evaluation

·    Youth Issues (as per needs of target group)

·    Assessment and Evaluation of Course
