The National Pensions Board

          

1.  FUNCTIONS OF THE NATIONAL PENSIONS BOARD

The National Pensions Board has been constituted under section 31 of the National Pensions Act 1976 on a tripartite basis to advise the Minister on any matter relating to the National Pensions Act.

Accordingly, the Board is convened to consider suggestions for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the National Pensions Scheme in line with the policy of Government, that is, to safeguard the interests of both the working class and employers contributing to the National Pensions Scheme.

The items which generally appear on the agenda of the Board Meetings comprise mainly of National Pensions Regulations, Collection of Contributions, Recovery of Debts, Property Management of NPF Buildings identification of new investment areas for the National Pensions Fund and computerisation of the NPF.
