A new NCC Act 2003 was passed in Parliament with the aim of making it more dynamic and responsive to the needs of children and to ensure the participation of children. The main aim of the Act is child participation in decision making through the setting up of a National Children's Committee comprising of members elected amongst children's and students clubs and associations registered with the National Children Council. This is in line with the Government commitment to ensure child participation in decision making.
