Mobile phones and tablets have become essential to most organisations whether public or private. Mobile phone deployments have increased significantly and it has been adopted by multitudes of end-users including managers and executives for convenient email access as well as for accessing sensitive organizational resources and production applications. The ubiquitous Mobile Devices have become a hugely attractive and vulnerable target for nefarious attackers whether it is an Apple iPhone or iPad, a Windows Phone, an Android or BlackBerry phone or tablet. Mobile code and apps are introducing new avenues for malware and data leakage, exposing organization critical information, intellectual property and other personal information assets to attackers. Meanwhile, with the increased reliance on these devices, organisations are quickly recognizing that mobile phones and applications need greater security implementations. Therefore, in order to sensitize those affected population the National Computer Board chose the following theme “Mobile hacking and Application Security” for its workshop on 31st May.
