CERT-MU : Workshop on Information Security Management System (ISMS)

	Background

	Information and its supporting systems are valuable business assets that require a high level of protection. For some businesses, a breach in security can result in major financial loss, prosecution, and loss of reputation or even closure. Unfortunately, risks continue to grow and include fire, computer hacking, fraud, theft, virus and corruption of information or simply human error.

	This training will be organized by Mauritian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-MU), which is operational under the aegis of National Computer Board-Mauritius in order to promote the adoption of Information Security Standards within the Mauritian organizations (includes public, parastatal & private organizations).

	The capacity building programme will be over a period of two weeks and cover the following:

		IT Manager/Information Security Manager
		Risk Managers

		Persons form support functions, who are part of IT Security cross functional team (Ex. Admin, Personnel, Physical Security etc)


	Please note that the training will be conducted in collaboration with Standardization, Testing and Quality Certification (STQC) Directorate which is a part of the Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communication & Information Technology, Government of India. The trainers are Mr. Rakesh Maheshwari & Mr. S.Venkatasubramanian from STQC. Mr. Rakesh Maheshwari: working as Director in STQC Directorate, Department of Information Technology. An Electronics and Communication Engineering graduate by Qualification, he has a total of 23 years of Industry experience including 21 years in Quality assurance, Software process improvement, Information security, Certification and Training. He has been trained at SEI (Cylab USA), BSI (UK) and Netherland on Information Security issues. Mr. S.Venkatasubramanian: is a highly qualified and well-experienced professional, actively engaged in auditing, counseling and training assignments relating to Information Security Management and IT Service Management domains. Currently working as Director – ISMS & ITSM Practices in STQC IT Services, Bangalore - Department of Information Technology, Government of India
