  Computer Security Day 2009  
 
The Computer Emergency Response Team Mauritius (CERT-MU), which is a division in National Computer Board, is organizing a Computer Security Day (CSD) on 30th November 2009. The CSD is an annual event that is observed worldwide. It was started in 1988 to help raise awareness of computer related security issues. The theme of this year CSD is Managing Risk. To observe the Computer Security Day, CERT MU in collaboration with the IT Security Unit, Ministry of Information and Communication Technology is organizing the following events:-
  • A full day Data Protection and Business Continuity Management Workshop on the 30th November 2009. This workshop is also being organized with the support of the Data Protection Commissioner’s office.
  • Launching of an information security guideline for small and medium enterprises and CERT-MU webserver guideline on 30th November 2009.
  • Live Webinar on 'Borderless Network Security' conducted by Mr. Philippe Roggeband in Paris on 2nd December 2009 at 1:30 pm in partnership with CISCO Systems.
  • A half day ISO 27001 Information Security Workshop on 3rd December 2009.
  • Distribution of Computer Security Day posters to public sector institutions, community centres, universities, post offices and schools.
  • Computer Security Awareness sessions in the IT Coaches in the month of December 2009.
