Free Remote Scanning Service offered by CERT-MU

A free remote scanning service for organizations which would like their server to be scanned remotely is being offered by CERT-MU. It is to be noted that this service is not a fully security testing exercise but act as a complement security measure implemented by the organizations. The report which is produced at the end of the exercise will give an insight to the organization of what is visible from a 'remote attacker'.

Remote Scan

CERT-MU will use freely available remote vulnerability scanning tools for the remote scan. The scan and the report generation will be automated. It is therefore recommended that the organization verifies the results and take the necessary steps to secure the server being scanned.

Remote Scan Results

Operating Systems running on the machine.

  Identification of open ports

Identification of vulnerable applications running on the server.

Recommendation for applying patches and upgrade if applicable.

  Recommendation for applying hardening measures

CERT-MU is offering this service to all the local organisations who wish to have their servers scanned for vulnerabilities.

The scan report will be available after 3 to 4 working days. Organizations interested are required to fill the service requirement form and email it to or fax it to 2080119.
