Microsoft Internet Explorer Cache Objects History Enumeration Weakness

 

A vulnerability has been identified in Microsoft Internet Explorer and it can be exploited by remote attackers to disclose sensitive information. The vulnerability is caused due to an error when cache objects are handled. This can be exploited to list out visited sites. The vulnerability affects the following software:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.x
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.x
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.x

Users are advised to enable “InPrivate Browsing” when browsing untrusted websites or do not browse untrusted websites.
