Cybercriminals are sending emails in bulk to internet users claiming to be a warning that their credit card has been blocked. The emails have subject lines such as:

Image 1 (Source: Naked Security- Sophos) In the above email, users are notified that their credit card has been blocked and a particular amount was withdrawn. They are also asked to look for more details in the attachment. Users should be careful since it is not a genuine email originating from MASTERCARD.com. The emails contain a malicious attachment, that when opened, can infect computers. The example of the above email refers to MASTERCARD.com. However, there are other email versions which make reference to VISA. The amount of money mentioned in the email can also vary.
CERT-MU strongly advises users that if ever they receive such emails, do not respond to it or download the attachment. These emails can infect your computer systems with malwares.
