An aggressive phishing attack is making the rounds in the form of malicious emails which seem to come from senior officers have been sent to military personnel during the festive season. The emails appear to be from the financial service company, USAA that serves service members, their families and veterans. The emails have “Deposit Posted” as subject and the recipients were asked to open a file. The file is infected by the Zeus malware and once opened, it can gain access to personal information and even require a complete reinstallation of the computer's operating system.
