Hackers broke into the official website of India's ruling Congress party and have defaced the profile of the party's president Sonia Gandhi with a pornographic message, as stated on the website of NDTV . The hack coincided with the president's 65 th birthday. The attack took place just a few days after India urged social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter and Google to remove offensive content from their website, which resulted in a storm of criticism from Internet users complaining of censorship. The website of the Congress party was inaccessible after the hack was discovered on the Gandhi's profile page.
