Speakers Profile
Mrs. Selvana Naiken Gopalla Information Security Consultant, CERT-MU	Selvana is an experienced Information Security professional, a certified ISO 27001 ISMS implementer and a regular speaker at security workshops. She is currently employed by the National Computer Board as Information Security Consultant for the Computer Emergency Response Team of Mauritius. She previously worked as Security Coordinator for Mauritius and Morocco at Accenture and as Risk Analyst at Risk Intelligence in London, United Kingdom. Selvana graduated in Computer Science with Network Security with First Class Honours from the University of Technology, Mauritius and holds an MSc. in Information Security with Distinction from Royal Holloway, University of London. Her areas of expertise include risk assessment, security audit, policy planning and development, security awareness, business continuity planning and incident handling.

Ms. K. Sharma Ramdhonee Child Psychologist, Child Development Unit	Karishma is a Child Psychologist at the Ministry of Gender Equality, Child Development and Family Welfare. She provides psychological assessment and assesses therapeutic needs of children and their families. She also provides counseling and psychotherapy to children and families in distress, victims of domestic violence and victims of sexual assaults amongst others. She is a holder of an MSc Applied Child Psychology with Distinction from Kingston University, London and a BSc (Hons) Psychology with First Class Honours from the University of Mauritius. In the past, she worked as Research Assistant and part-time lecturer at the Mauritius Institute of Education. She was also an autism researcher in three of UK’s Special Educational needs and a trainee therapeutic coordinator at “Etoile d’Esperance Alcool-Femmes”.

Mr. Navin Peerthy Public Sector Manager, Microsoft Indian Ocean Islands and French Pacific	Navin joined Microsoft since 2012 and he leads EPG at Microsoft for the past 4 years, for the Indian Ocean Islands & French Pacific . Prior to that, Public Sector Manager at Oracle for Eastern & Southern Africa for 3 years after successful management, sales & technical careers at Blanche Birger, NIIT, FRCI & Harel Mallac. Navin is fond of sports, music and reading. He is married and father of two kids. He completed his studies in electronics from University of Delhi & Masters from University of Mauritius He is the one who initiated and drove the ‘Port Louis’ Time Zone in Date & Time Settings in Windows Operating System.

Ms. Diya Beesoondoyal State Counsel, Attorney General’s Office	Diya is a State Counsel at the Attorney-General's Office since 2006. Her role is to advise Ministries and Government bodies on legal issues, appear for the Government in civil and commercial cases and draft primary and secondary legislation. She has previously worked at the University of Mauritius as Lecturer in Information Technology Law and Law Relating to the Information Society. She has also been a member of the Standing Committee on Cyber Security, National Cybercrime Prevention Committee and Committee on the promotion of use of genuine software. Diya completed a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Master of Laws (LLM) in International Business Law from the London School of Economics. She called to the Bar in England & Wales in 2004 and in 2005 Mauritius.
