To commemorate the International Anti Corruption Day 2010, a mass communication campaign was launched from the 1st December to the 15th  December 2010.


The main message was for the public was to “Say No to Corruption”. The aim of the campaign was to create a greater awareness on the effects of corruption on the individual and the country. The communication initiatives included:


1.Billboard
60 billboards with the slogan “Ou éna tou pou perdi avek corruption” and the message “Bribe refiz pran, refiz doné” were strategically placed at vantage points across the island .The illustrations used were intended to serve as a deterrent to corrupt practices.

2. Bus panels
To catch the attention the attention of the general public and to emphasize their role in the fight against corruption, an advertisement on bus panel with the slogan “You can stop corruption” was placed on 50 buses which covered main bus routes island wide.

 

3. Stickers affixed inside buses
Stickers were affixed inside public buses with the message Pas  tolère la corruption”.

 


4. Radio programmes
Clips explaining corruption offences in a dialogue form in Creole were aired on all radio channels: Top FM,Radio One, Radio Plus and MBC radio.

The corruption offences elaborated were: traffic d’influence, conflict of interests, gratification and bribery. The different scenarios were based on real court cases.
