| The CPED provides the following
services in the fight against corruption:
•Building corruption resistance.
It conducts general awareness campaigns to enlighten
the population on the dangers of corruption, reporting
mechanism and protection of whistleblowers. A capacity
building approach through education, training and material
development, is privileged.
•Corruption Prevention
Management. The assistance available includes
preparation of corruption prevention tools and best
practice guides for organizations and advocacy services
in strengthening systems in public bodies. Corruption
prevention reviews are conducted with a view towards
enhancing systems to reduce opportunities for corruption
in public bodies.
•Development of model
code of conduct. The Division assists public
bodies in the development of Codes of Conduct and
Procedure Manual on request. It also provides organisational
and management review guidelines.
•Curriculum Enhancement. CPED
is mandated to assist in enhancing the curriculum at
all educational levels.
•Contact and link services
with anti-corruption bodies. CPED promotes
links between the Commission and international organisations
so as to foster international co-operation and technical
assistance to ensure the effectiveness of actions
in the fight against corruption.
