Infotech 2007
The start-ups of the National Computer Board ICT Incubator Centre were present at INFOTECH 2007 held at the Swami Vivekanada International Convention Centre from Wednesday 08 to Sunday 12 August 2007.
INFOTECH 2007 has been organised by the National Computer Board on a regional dimension with the objectives to:
- provide information on developments and achievements in the ICT sector in Mauritius;
- create awareness on and spread emerging technologies;
- demonstrate and promote local talents, expertise, know-how and export potential;
- sensitise on the potential applications of ICT and choice of technology for effective business and individual solutions;
- sensitise on career opportunities in the ICT sector;
- position and promote Mauritius as the regional ICT hub; and
- offer a meeting platform for local ICT operators to develop collaboration and deals with potential technology partners and customers
INFOTECH 2007 comprised of the following:
- An Exhibition for exhibitors to showcase their products and services.
- A Job Space , to facilitate recruitment in the ICT Sector
- A Cyber Space , with free ICT and Internet facilities
- A Regional ICT Conference including a Buyer-Sellers Meet
- Technical / Product Demo Conference
Start-ups at the NCB-ICT Incubator centre were also invited to participate in INFOTECH 2007; a free stand was allocated for start-ups. InfoQuest Ltd and Equipment media Analysis Ltd were present for this event.
INFOTECH 2007 was an excellent marketing opportunity for start-ups to create awareness of their products and services and do product demo. It was also an ideal occasion to create contacts and develop their respective network.
