PRESS COMMUNIQUE

 

CITY AND GUILDS DECEMBER 2011 EXAMINATIONS

 

1.

Entries and late entries for the above examinations, from private candidates, will be received between 09 00 hours and 14 00 hours at the Mauritius Examinations Syndicate, Réduit, as follows:

2.

 

Prospective candidates are requested to call in person at the Mauritius Examinations Syndicate, Réduit, to fill in the Entry Forms and pay the necessary fees.  They should produce their National Identity Card and original Birth Certificate.

 

2.1

Candidates under eighteen should produce their original Birth Certificate and either the Identity Card issued by the Mauritius Examinations Syndicate together with one passport-size photograph or two recent photographs bearing their name and signature. The photograph/s should be signed by an authorised person - a list is available at the Technical Examinations Section (phone no. 4038400 ext. 123 / 307) or on our website (http://mes.intnet.mu).

Candidates entering for the City and Guilds Examinations and who have previously taken the examinations should also produce their Notification of Candidate Enrolment Number.

The Fees for the examinations are as follows:

5.   For examinations in which the assessment schemes include a coursework assessment, an assignment or project, private candidates will be allowed to enter for the written components only.

 

6.    In case payment is effected by cheque, it should be an OFFICE CHEQUE issued by a bank, drawn to the order of the Mauritius Examinations Syndicate; otherwise cheques will not be accepted.

 

 7.        (a)  Entries will be accepted only from Private Candidates who have already enrolled for the Theory Routes and they will have up to June 2012 to complete their qualifications.  However, they will need to register for the practical components at a City and Guilds approved centre in order to be eligible for a complete certificate which is recognised by Mauritius Qualifications Authority.

 

       

                (b)  Candidates are hereby informed that City and Guilds will not accept registration from Private Candidates who wish to enter for the first time. Candidates who wish to enter for the City and Guilds examinations will have to make entries through City and Guilds Registered Centres only.

 

NO ENTRY WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THURSDAY 22 SEPTEMBER 2011.
