THE GENERAL CERTIFICATE OF EDUCATION CAMBRIDGE EXAMINATION

MAY/JUNE 2011

 

Final Late Entries for the above examination will be received at the Mauritius Examinations Syndicate, Réduit on Monday 21 March 2011 between 10 00 and 14 00 hours.

 

2.         Candidates may enter for up to four subjects at Advanced Level or up to nine subjects at Ordinary Level.  However, candidates will not be allowed to enter for subjects at both levels.

 

3.                 Candidates are hereby informed that no arrangements will be made in case there is a timetable clash with other examining bodies.

 

4.         Candidates are advised to consult the current syllabuses available at the Syllabus Section of the Mauritius Examinations Syndicate or on the MES website before making their entry.

 

5.         a)   The fees payable are as follows:

b)   Payment of fees should be made in cash or by means of an Office Cheque issued by a bank and drawn to the order of the Mauritius Examinations Syndicate.

 

6.         Candidates should call in person at the Mauritius Examinations Syndicate to fill in the Entry Forms.  Entry Forms forwarded by post will not be considered. 

 

7.

      a)

Candidates who are 18 and above should bring along their National Identity Card and original Birth Certificate. Those under eighteen should produce their original Birth Certificate and

 

 

   Either

The MES Candidate’s Identity/Admission Card or the NTA Student Identity Card together with one recent passport-size photograph bearing their name and signature;

 

 

     Or     

Two recent passport-size photographs bearing their name and signature and countersigned by one person who has known them personally for at least two years and who is either Member of the National Assembly, Medical Practitioner, Barrister-at-Law, Attorney-at-Law, Notary Public, Bank Manager, Principal of a recognised Educational Institution, Police Officer not below the rank of Assistant Superintendent or Officer in the public service not below the rank of Assistant Secretary.

 

The person countersigning the photographs should give his/her own particulars as follows:

Name, Designation, Signature

 

     b)

Married ladies should also produce their marriage certificate.

 

8.         Candidates are strongly advised to be very careful while filling in their Entry Forms as an additional fee will be charged for any amendment made.

 

9.         Very Important Notice: The examination will be held between 05 May and 10 June 2011.  Timetables for candidates will be despatched by registered post.  Those who would not have received their timetable by Friday 29 April 2011 are requested to call at the GCE/SC Local Marking Section, Mauritius Examinations Syndicate, Réduit, on Monday 02 May 2011.
