Since the setting of the Mauritius Revenue Authority, the Customs Department organized eleven Auction Sales by Tender. Various items were put on for sale and the general public showed keen interest in the bidding process which were held in a very transparent manner.

The 12th Customs Auction Sale was held as from Thursday 27th January 2009 to 30th January 2009. Goods, namely, alcoholic beverages, Television Sets, Footwear, Garments, Ceramic Tiles, Motor Vehicles, Mobile phones among others were auctioned.
