MRA - High End Training

The Mauritius Revenue Authority, in collaboration with the US Embassy has organized a two-day training for the benefit of 25 MRA Customs Officers and 15 officers from the Passport & Immigration Office at MRA Headquarters, Port Louis from 22 to 23 June 2009. The training was focused on “Fraudulent Documents and Drug Recognition, Search & Concealment”.

The resource persons for the training were Mr Johan Claassen, Senior Criminal Investigator and James Breen ICE Attaché, both from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) of the USA.

The training was launched on the 22nd June during an official opening ceremony whereby the Chief Guest, Mr. Vasdev Hassamal talked of the relentless efforts of the authority to train its staff. The Director General of MRA, Mr. Sudhamo Lal stated the commitment of the organization to provide services of high-ethical standards and of excellent quality to its stakeholders. Mr. Stephen Mendes, Director, Customs addressed the participants and requested them to take all the benefits of this high-end training. Mr K. Helm, Regional Security Officer and representative of the US Embassy underlined the long-lasting cooperation between Mauritius and the US Embassy for Training purposes and thanked the MRA to be at the fore-front of training.
