The second Annual Report of the MRA encapsulates its

Since the setting of the Mauritius Revenue
Authority, the Customs Department organized eleven Auction Sales by
Tender. Various items were put on for sale and the general public showed
keen interest in the bidding process which was held in a very
transparent manner.
The 12th Customs Auction Sale was held as from Thursday 27th January
2009 to 30th January 2009. Goods, namely,
Television Sets, Footwear, Garments, Ceramic Tiles, Motor Vehicles,
Mobile phones among others were auctioned.

Mr. Stephen John MENDES, of British nationality, assumed duty as Director, Customs Department, on Monday 02 February 2009.
