The Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) is the holder of the Best Anti-Corruption Framework Award 2010. This award, was handed over to the MRA on 13 December 2010 by the Vice-President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mrs Monique Ohsan Bellepeau, GOSK. The MRA also won the Challenge shield for the Best Anti Corruption Framework as well as shields in the following categories: Best Management Commitment, Best Integrity Management and Best Overall Anti Corruption Framework.

In the context of the national fight against corruption and with the collaboration of the Mauritian Quality Institute (MQI), the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) organised the Best Anti-Corruption Framework 2010 Award. The competition was open to organisations both in the public sector and private sector.

The Award set the standards for an anti-corruption management system. It gave an opportunity for organisations to review their position on corruption and identify further actions to minimise corruption risks thereby building and sustaining corruption resistance in the organisation. The Award aimed to promote an organisation’s corporate image, credibility and trust. The assessment criteria for the Award were categorised according to five fundamental areas: Management Commitment, Risk Management, Transparency, Accountability and Integrity Management which are key factors to minimise corruption opportunities.

Since its inception in 2006, the MRA is committed to fight fraud, corruption and other malpractices. In this direction, it has established two dedicated divisions, namely the Internal Affairs Division and the Internal Audit Division to look after integrity of people and systems, and has put in place a number of strategies to counter-attack the nasty effects of corruption and other malpractices. As a renowned modern organisation, the MRA participated in the Award.
