| The International Standard ISO 9001:2008 was published
in November 2008. The Mauritian Standard MS ISO 9001:2008
has been based on this International Standard and MSB
is offering certification in MS ISO 9001:2008. |

| The Process
Approach |
MS ISO 9001:2008 promotes the adoption of a process
approach when developing, implementing and improving the
effectiveness of a Quality Management System, to enhance
customer satisfaction by meeting customer requirements.
A process is a series of interrelated activities which
transform inputs into outputs. |

| According to the process approach an organisation consists
of a number of linked processes or activities. the process
approach is thus the application of a system of processes
within an organisation, together with the identification
and interaction of these processes and their management. |

Methodology
of Process Approach |
The process approach uses the methodology known as "Plan-Do-Check-Act"
(PDCA). Plan:establish the objectives and processes
necessary to deliver results in accordance with customer
requirements and the organisation's policies. Do:
Implement the processes Check: Monitor
and measure processes and product against policies, objectives
and requirements for the product and report the results.
Act: Take actions to continually improve process
performance. |

ISO 9001:2008 International Standard has been based on

and fundamental rule or belief, for leading and operating
an organisation, aimed at continually improving performance
over the long term by focussing on customers while addressing
the needs of all other stakeholders. |
