Mauritius has a maritime climate, tropical during summer and sub-tropical during winter. The summer months extend from November to April and winter from June to September – October and May being transition months. In the centre of the island, the temperature varies between 13ºC (81ºF) and 19ºC (91.8ºF) in July – August and between 19ºC (91.8ºF) and 25ºC (`102.6ºF) in January. Along the coast, the temperature is about 5ºC (66.6ºF) higher, reaching an average of 30ºC (111.6ºF) at mid-day in February. |
