ICT PROJECT COMPETITION 2005

The National Computer Board organised an ICT Project Competition with aim of stimulating reflection and the exchange of ideas about the prospects that Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) can bring about in achieving the vision of transforming Mauritius in a Cyberisland.

The chosen theme was: The challenges facing Mauritius to create an Information-based Society.

 7 teams submitted their projects, which were assessed independently by the members of the jury panel, and made oral presentations of their projects.

The first prize of Rs 8,000 each was awarded to theTeam E-lectrons from the University of Mauritius

Members of the team were:

  1. Essackjee Ismael

  2. Chooromonay Upved

  3. Doseeah Damodar

  4. Cunjamalay Paramaseeven

  5. Dilmahomod Waziim

The runner-up was the Team ICT Evolution from the University of Mauritius and they each won a cash prize of Rs 5,000
