
ICT Literacy programmes
The ICT Literacy programmes provided by the Cyber Caravans are customized to meet the needs of all people with little or no IT skills.
These courses are delivered by MQA registered IT animators
ICT Literacy Programmes are organized by the NCB for the following groups of people:
Children in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research
Women in collaboration with the Ministry of Women's Rights Child Development and Family Welfare
Senior Citizens in collaboration with the Senior Citizens Council
Unemployed
Disabled Persons in collaboration with the Training and Employment of Disabled Persons Board There are four types of training programmes:
- ICT Literacy
- IT Introductory Course
- ICT Awareness
- ICT Awareness Programme for Children
ICT Literacy Courses
The ICT Literacy programme consists of the modules listed below:
Module 1 - Basic Computing
The basic physical make-up of a personal computer, maintenance guide and IT security.
Module 2 - Introduction to Internet and Internet Services
Using a web browser application and available search engine tools to accomplish basic web search tasks, e-mail software and chat packages.
Module 3 - Word Processing
Creating, formatting and finishing a word processing document, and using more advanced word processing features.
Module 4 - Presentations
Creating, formatting and preparing presentations, using graphics, charts and various slides show effects.
Module 5 - Spreadsheet Processing
Developing, formatting and using a spreadsheet, using basic formulas and function to perform standard mathematical and logical operations.
Module 6 - Databases
Designing and planning a simple database using a standard database package, retrieving information from an existing database.
A certificate of attendance is issued to participants who have followed 20 hr of training with the IT Coach

IT Introductory Course
The IT Introductory Course consists of a 30 hr training on Information Technology Introductory Course over a period of 5 full days or 10 half days. The course covers the following modules:
Basic Computing (6 hr)
Word Processing (6 hr)
Spreadsheet (6 hr)
Introduction to Internet and Internet Services (8 hr)
Practical Sessions (4 hr)
ICT Awareness
The ICT Awareness programme is an initiation session of 2 hours on each of the following module:
The basics of a computer
Word Processing
Introduction to Internet and Internet
Services

ICT Awareness for children
The ICT Awareness programme for children is targeted mainly for children aged 6 - 12 years. The following is covered in the programme:-
Understand what is computer
Drawing and Painting using the Computer
Initiation to Internet and Internet Services
