The Financial Services Commission and the World Bank are jointly organising a Regional Seminar on Non-Bank Financial Institutions Development in Africa to be held between December 9-11, 2003 in Grand Baie Conference Centre in Mauritius.    

 

The regional seminar aims to create awareness of the promise of NBFIs for the Africa region, and to assist policymakers in the region in creating a coherent policy structure and a sound regulatory and supervisory environment for their development. The seminar will also aim to identify common challenges and concerns in the policy formulation and implementation in both regulatory and business dimensions of NBFIs in the region.  Participants from the region will deliberate about the role of NBFIs in an interactive setting to exchange viewpoints and share experiences.
