LIBRARY AND ICT DEPARTMENT
THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF VACOAS-PHOENIX is committed to ensuring that all its inhabitants have access to materials to meet their educational, cultural, recreational and information needs.
Council runs six full fledged libraries and one reading point. There is in a stock of over 75,000 books in subjects ranging from Computer Science, Philosophy, Religion, Social Science, Linguistics, Pure and Applied Science, Arts, Literature to History, including a Mauritiana collection.
A wide variety of magazines and newspapers, local and international is provided.

The Council has set up a cyber café at the Town Hall Building with 9 personal computers. The facilities available include surfing, chatting, e-mailing, binding, encyclopedias on CDs and printing amongst others. A reference section where IT magazines are available has also been provided.
