Workshop on Youngsters Online: Role of School

The National Computer Board/CERT-MU hosted a workshop on a theme ‘Youngsters Online: Role of School’ in collaboration with the Ministry of Education & Human Resources and Microsoft Indian Ocean Islands on 22nd of June 2010 at the MGI, Moka targeting rectors and Managers of State and Private Secondary Schools. The workshop was officially opened by the Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Hon. Tassarajen Pillay Chedumbrum.

On this occasion, a brochure and a poster on “Internet Safety & Online Security”, was officially launched by the Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Hon. World Telecommunication and Information Society Day

On the occasion of the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, the National Computer Board hosted a workshop on “Green ICT and Electronic Waste” on 17th May 2010 at La Canelle, Domaine Les Paille targeting  ICT Professionals and decision makers. The workshop was officially opened by the  Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Hon. Tassarajen Pillay Chedumbrum. 

During this occasion, a brochure on “Guidelines for Households on Green Computing” published by the National Computer Board, was officially launched by the Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Hon. Tassarajen Pillay Chedumbrum and the Chairman of the National Computer Board, Mr Suraj Ramgolam.

Launching of the Mauritius ICT Indicators Web Portal

The ICT Indicators Web Portal and Newsletter was launched by the Honourable Minister of Information and Communication Technology during a workshop held on the 15th April 2010 at Clos St Louis, Domaines Les Pailles. The objective of the workshop was to take stock of the achievements of the ICT Industry and the challenges facing the ICT Industry for the years ahead.

Workshop on “Vulnerability Management”

CERT-MU hosted a workshop on “Vulnerability Management” on 25th February 2010 at La Canelle, Domaine Les Paille targeting IT professionals, System Administrators, IT Auditors and Information Security Practitioners. The workshop was officially opened by Mr. Dan Faugoo, Executive Director of National Computer Board and there were 125 participants who have attended the workshop.

Safer Internet Day 2010

On the occasion of the Safer Internet Day 2010, a half-day workshop on Social Networking Principles was held on the 9th February 2010 at MGI targeting ICT primary school teachers. This workshop is a joint initiative of CERT-MU, National Computer Board (NCB), Ministry of Education, Culture and Human Resources and IT Security Unit, Ministry of Information and Communication Technology. The objective of this workshop was to sensitise the representatives of primary schools about the risks posed to children and young people, directly and indirectly, through the use of their images, particularly on the Internet and other electronic media and also on how the improper use of Internet technologies lead to cyberbullying and other adverse impacts on the youth.
